Vampire Weekend is made up by a group of recent Columbia University graduates. Their sound merges their Preppy college background with elements of Indie Rock, Afrobeats and African pop! It is quirky indie music at its finest. ‘Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa ‘ (named after a Congolese dance style about seducing a girl on her fancy Benetton linens) is a musically sparse, uplifting and catching tune that manages to namecheck Peter Gabriel, Louis Vuitton, at least two types of English tea and Manhattan bus routes.
